Corona
Janajagruti Abhiyan was implemented on behalf of National Service Scheme of Lal
Bahadur Shastri College, Satara affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. To
combat the Corona crisis, the college has extended a helping hand in various
ways at different levels and has tried to create awareness in the society.
While implementing this program, Sarpanch and Gram Panchayat members provided
valuable support at the local level. Shivaji University, National Service
Scheme Coordinator Prof. A.D. Jayabhai Sir provided valuable guidance. This is.
The principal of our college Dr. R.V. Shejwal Sir was source of inspiration in
implementing these innovative activities. We feel proud that in a real sense
our NSS unit tried to follow the slogan of the National Service Scheme: NOT ME
BUT YOU. The following activities were undertaken on behalf of the National
Service Scheme.

1. Motivation-2020 State
level Skill Oriented Training Course:
Shivaji University and
UNICEF jointly organized State level Skill Oriented Training Camp from 11 July
to 15 July 2020. In this program our three Program officers participated and
completed successfully skill oriented online training Course. At end of training
Course organized rally in Satara Stadium.
2. Participation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:
The Swachh Bharat Mission on 2nd October 2014.
Under the mission, and the 150th birth
anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, by constructing over 100 million toilets in
rural India.
Our NSS Volunteers
actively participated for Toilet cleanness program in adopted village Kushi on
15 Jan. 2021.

3. Raksha Bandhan Program:
Every
year our NSS unit organizing this activity; our volunteers collect the Rakkis
from the college students and sends to solders that are not participated in
this program due to Solder Duty.
Raksha Bandhan programme on 12
August, 2012 maintained the love for children in
Remand Home, Respect for Soldier and pity for prisoners. It brings national
integrity among the students.
4. Online Lecture on
Covid-19:
In the lockdown period our NSS
Department organized online awareness program on Covid-19. Dr. Tushar Pisal has
given the guidance and health care tips to the volunteers on 06 June 2021. Dr.
Pisal also said the important and use of Mask and Sanitizer. Our Principal Dr. R.
V. Shejwal also gave the information regarding Covid-19.
5. Online Lecture on Psychology
of Youths:
Dr. Hamid Dabolkar has given the
online lecture on Psychology of Youths on 19 Jan. 2021. He was also said the
negative effects of bad habit and its impact on career.
6. Online
program on ‘Dil Dosti Dunyadari’:
Mrs. Rupali Bhosale and Mrs. Yogini
Magar gave given the online lecture on drawback of Friendship. Almost students
are using whatapp and facebook and create the problems of Cybercrime; they had
given guidance of proper and safe use of media.
7. Online line Workshop on International Yoga Day:
Our NSS, NCC and Sports department
jointly organized ‘International Yoga Day’ on 21 June 2021. Dr. Vijaya Kadam Madam has given online lecture
plus demo of Yoga. The 56 students and faculty members were participated that
activity.
8. Corona
virus awareness by NSS volunteers:
The volunteers
of National Service Scheme followed the social distancing and tried to remove
the misconceptions about Corona Virus by meeting the villagers and shopkeepers
in the village. They made people aware about the precautions to be taken to
prevent this disease.
9. Corona
Virus awareness through Rangoli competition:
During the
period of lockdown, a Rangoli competition on Corona Virus Awareness was
organized on behalf of the National Service Scheme. 42 volunteers took part in
the competition spontaneously. Volunteers tried to raise awareness by drawing
Rangoli at their doors.
10. Making Masks and Distribution to villages:
Fifteen thousand masks were made by NSS volunteers
of National Service Scheme with the help program officers and members of NSS
committee. All these masks were distributed among the citizens, milk sellers,
vegetable sellers, and shepherds in the adopted and surrounding villages.
11. Distribution of food and water in Pandemic:
Students
of the National Service Scheme distributed water and biscuits to the police and
medical personnel in Satara to express their gratitude to the police and
medical personnel who are always ready to fight against the Corona Virus.
12. Organization of Vaccination Camp, Mask and Sanitizer Distribution at
Adopted village Kushi:
Our
NSS unit and Kushi Village jointly organized ‘Vaccination Camp’ on 22 Aug.
2021. The NSS students and faculty members were participated that activity. Students
of the NSS distributed 1000 Mask and Sanitizer to the Villagers in the Kushi
Tal. And Dist. Satara.
13. Organization of Vaccination Camp at L. B. S. College:
Our NSS Unit L.B.S. College and Kasturba Primary Health Care Centre, Satara organized Vaccination Camp at College on Covid-19. Principal Dr. R. V. Shejwal has given the guidance and health care tips to the volunteers on 28 Oct. 2021.
